Case study · Fundue
Video calls with nothing to sign up for.
A solo developer had a peer-to-peer video calling app: no accounts, no servers, no data collected. Then the pandemic gave it a moment, right as the developer stepped back from the hard part of shipping.

No accounts meant none of the usual ways to find friends or stay connected, so those flows had to be rethought from scratch. I designed the whole iOS interface and built it myself in Xcode.
The fun part was everything that made Fundue Fundue: a drawing layer both people could scribble on mid-call, front and back cameras live at once (before BeReal or Apple did it), and screen sharing with your face in the corner. Every control had to stay out of the way of the person you were actually talking to.
It launched on the App Store in 2020. I carried it the rest of the way myself, design and code both.
